Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but Jessica Ennis intends to use them as stepping stones to winning another world heptathlon title.
The Olympic gold medallist from last summer’s Games in London will take part inseveral Diamond League events before the World Championships in Moscow in August but insists they are little more than preparation for her battle with Russia’s Tatyana Chernova.
Jessica's parents visited the new Umix Centre in Lowfield near to where Jessica and her sister Carmel were raised. Her mum Alison and Dad Vinnie talk olympics, Don Valley and dogs, with a few nice memories of Jessica's childhood also thrown in.

Plans for a new athletics stadium in Sheffield have been given the thumbs up by Toni Minichiello, coach of Olympic champion Jessica Ennis.
A refurbished Woodburn Road athletics track was unveiled on Tuesday morning as part of a major redevelopment of the condemned Don Valley Stadium, where Ennis took up the sport and still trains.
Jess Ennis given freedom of Sheffield
Sheffield's Olympic hero Jessica Ennis has been officially granted the freedom of her home city.
Ennis, who won the heptathlon gold medal at London 2012 on Super Saturday, was honoured at a private ceremony last night, hosted by Lord Mayor John Campbell.
She was watched by family, friends and civic dignitaries as she signed the scroll granting her the honour.
Mr Campbell said: “Becoming a freeman of Sheffield is the highest civic honour we can display and Jessica truly deserves it.
